Hey All

I have tried various builds with my monk but I just cant Knorr Oaken, any help is appreciated..

One thing I did was use the famous norn tournament /Rit fighting build to take him out super quick.

Here's the monk build: OwgiAyiM9N5DWOd2k5sLWNZTC

What I do is run up to him until you're in aggro range wait until the counter comes down to about 15 secs then start raising your spirits. As the timer counts down to zero, do "You move like a dwarf" to interrupt his bear form then cast the hex Painful bond and viola he's down.

You only have to get him down to about 25% to beat him.

Hope that helps. You can also use that build to beat the glacial griffin and the bear club for men/women.

I'm pretty sure I strapped on my 55-armor and bar for that particular quest.... sure the dude has some knockdowns... but so what? Go Mo/Rt and take vengeful weapon and VwK to make it nice and quick...

What I used, was a typical Smiting/Prot monk hybrid

Signet of Judgement
Bane Signet
<Enter Damage Spell here>
<Enter Damage Spell here>
Retribution
Prot Spirit
Shielding Hands/Shield of Absorption
<Enter Healing here>

Use SoJ to interrupt his Bear Form skill, and then Bane/SoJ kd him whenever. Make sure Retribution is up from the get go (since you have like 20 seconds of prep time). And maintain prot spirit and Shielding hands or Shield of Absorption (whatever you brought).

I also ran around every now and then to avoid some damage.

Main thing is to interrupt his Bear Form and his Healing Signets.

Or you can do what Zen said, go Spirit Spammer and hex with Painful Bond, but my suggestion would work for those without Factions.

use the spirit spammer build the best and the easiest, perhaps even the fastest. oh and i just went the noob way, which was using Ursan, in my defense i was in a hurry to get the quest that comes after it. i was para so i had 80 base armor.

I ursaned him for fastness, 55 SS will rape him as will VwK

I saved the build unfortunatly i cant get to it right now but if i remember right i used
Move like a dwarf
Protective spirit
Healing breeze
Holy Warth
Retribution
Symbol of Wrath

Basicaly he beat the hell out of himself while i kept PS on me and used Healing breeze when i needed it.
